Upside down

That is what I turned my house to today! I swear, I don't know what has gotten in to me, but I have been an SPRING CLEANING MACHINE! Now believe me when I say this was completely unitentional. In the past 48 hours I have completely cleaning out our desk file by file, washed ALL of the linens, vacuumed the ceiling (yes, you read that right) and everything else that would stay still long enough, painted a curtain rod, did several loads of laundry, hung a shelf, etc.... I have no idea where this inspo has come from, but I am just going with it!

The kids are on spring break this week and I cannot believe how quickly it is going. We have been to my home town for a little visit and were planning on visiting my MIL, but that didn't work out. Maybe over Memorial Day weekend?

So there you have it, my exciting week thus far. LOL Maybe, just maybe I'll have more exciting news to share tomorrow? ;0)

A card for Spring and some great news!

Good morning and happy Monday! To kick off this week I wanted to share a card I made using papers from October Afternoon's "Hometown" collection. With Easter, Spring break & the great weather we have been having I was inspired to making something bright & cheery.

Now, on to my super fantastic news. Remember the layout I posted last week using "Vintage Yummy" by Sassafras? It was featured this past weekend on the Sassafras Lass blog! I was ecstatic to say the least! I love the way the layout turned out and the papers were just perfect for the old photos of my mother. Anyways, I just wanted to share some of my happy news with you.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

He has risen!

It's Friday and it's GOOD!

"But he was wounded
for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement
of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes
we are healed."

- Isaiah 53:5(KJV)

Happy Good Friday!

It's okay, be funky!

The other day I had some funky fun at a cool site called "Be Funky". It allows you to add photo effects to your pictures for free. That is great news for those of you who may not have access to or know how to use Photoshop. Even if you are a Photoshop user it is still a super quick way to try out some interesting techniques. Here is a sample of a photo I did.
This is just one of many possibilities.Go check it out and try not to get totally addicted!

Just call me Sass-a-fras!

If you read my blog regularly, you know I ♥ Sassafras Lass. It used to be hard for me to cut into the patterned paper perfection that I have come to love & adore. I have long since over come that fear and want to share my most recent layout using my beloved Sassafras.

Lots and lots of hand cutting on these, and you know what? I enjoyed it! Seeing the little pieces splayed out on my table made me giddy! I thought the pictures of my mom went perfectly with the "Vintage Yummy" collection (one of my favorites to date).
Thanks for coming by and letting me share!

Gettin' busy!

I have lots to share today, so get ready to be inundated with a flood of photos.

I made this card as part of my guest design work at Create My Keepsake using the gorgeous March kit.

These are my design team projects for Citrus Tree Studio using April's "Orchard Fresh" kit. The kit includes lots of Scribble Scrabble's Evelyn collection and some October Afternoon from their "Night Light" collection.

These are the result of my very first round robin with some friends.
The little card in the lower corner is one that I had given my mom when I was a little girl.

And last, but not least, is a digital page I did. For this one I wanted to focus on the journaling.

Alrighty, so I guess that's it for now, thanks for coming by!

If I had known.....

14 years ago what I know today, I would STILL marry this man.
He has blessed my life in innumerable ways and I am so grateful to be his wife. The truth is, we belong together, plain and simple. Just like peanut butter and jelly, macaroni and cheese or any of those other pairs that naturally compliment eachother, we go together. I can't adequately express all that he is to me, so I will let the words of this song say it for me. I think it does a good job of summing it all up.

*All I want is you*
If I were a flower growing wild and free
All I'd want is you to be my sweet honey bee.
And if I were a tree growing tall and green
All I'd want is you to shade me and be my leaves

All I want is you, will you be my bride
Take me by the hand and stand by my side
All I want is you, will you stay with me?
Hold me in your arms and sway me like the sea.

If you were a river in the mountains tall,
The rumble of your water would be my call.
If you were the winter, I know I'd be the snow
As long as you were with me, let the cold wind blow

If you were a wink, I'd be a nod
If you were a seed, I'd be a pod.
If you were the floor, I'd wanna be the rug
And if you were a kiss, I know I'd be a hug

If you were the wood, I'd be the fire.
If you were the love, I'd be the desire.
If you were a castle, I'd be your moat,
And if you were an ocean, I'd learn to float.

This is my favorite version of the original, take a listen.

Happy 14th Anniversary baby.
Thank you for being my "Sweet honey bee", I love you!
